Writer/Director/ Producer: Geoff Marslett
Geoff has directed twenty short films and segments of longer projects. His critically acclaimed short film Monkey vs. Robot screened at over 25 festivals worldwide, was distributed theatrically and broadcast on HBO, PBS, and Univision. In 2010 he completed his first feature film, MARS, an animated, sci-fi, romantic comedy starring Mark Duplass. MARS premiered at the 2010 South by Southwest Film Festival and went on to show around the world at dozens of film festivals including BFI London, Sitges, Sidewalk Film Festival, Maryland, Heartland and Lund Fantastic Fest. Along the way it won awards at the Dallas Video Fest, Just For Laughs Chicago, Indie Memphis, and The San Francisco Independent Film Festival. Geoff was recently named one of the “25 New Faces of Independent Film” by Filmmaker Magazine and received the Board of Regents Outstanding Undergraduate Instructor Award for his teaching at the University of Texas at Austin. His work has garnered press from Time Out London, The New York Times, The Austin Chronicle, The Wall Street Journal, Indiewire, Wired, and many more national publications. Loves Her Gun is Geoff's first live action feature film.
He is also developing a feature length film called Magic Boy vs. the Robots based on James Kochalka’s original graphic novels. Some of his other films include Slacker 2011, Bubblecraft, Out of Bounds, Trip To Roswell, Eight Movements and Ten is My Favorite Number.
